Shoot Two

Personally, I like this particular image which is the reason why I created numerous edits to try and create different effects. In these edits, I have attempted to lighten the image as well as darken in other edits, also, I have tried to create an old fashioned effect by adjusting the offset. As well as this, my main idea behind these images was to edit them in different ways to see if I could achieve successful outcomes; this would then help with my idea to overlay these images as it would create numerous effects when overlaying by using the same image but different edits. This would fit with my main idea of portraying peoples personalities and feelings through my images because even though the image is the same it looks different in different concepts. I like this image however, if I were to reshoot this specific photograph, I would try different camera angles. I cannot adjust the light on these images when reshooting as it is natural lighting; my only option would be to lighten them on Photoshop if the images appeared to be too underexposed or even underexposed. The further ideas which this image has given me is to photograph rust and decaying objects such as dying flowers and cracked paint which I could then use when overlaying my images onto my portrait photographs. I think this idea would be interesting and create a unique and different effect.

When editing this still life photograph, I have adjusted many things.; the main thing which I have edited was the offset. I have increased the offset to try and create an old fashioned effect but still with colour. Once I had done this, I edited the gamma correction of the photograph the make the flower appear bolder and brighter rather than being dull.

This photograph which I have taken in Rossmere park is quite successful due to the good focus of the image. The main point of focus in this image is the pink flower; because this is the point of focus, it stands out from the rest of the flowers. This represents that certain peoples personalities can stand out from everyone else because they are unique. When editing this particular image, I have increased the offset which created old fashioned type of feel to the image which I think is effective and looks good. Although I like this particular effect, the photograph looks overexposed in the first image but looks underexposed in the edited photo. The type of lighting in this photograph is natural which I could not control, this is why the image appears to be overexposed. My main idea for this image was to make one main flower stand out from the rest, although the pink flower is a different colour to the rest, it draws attention because it appears to be brighter and bolder, I wanted to portray through and image that everyone is different and everyone has different and unique personalities.

In these particular edits, I have tried to create two different outcomes. In my first edit, I have attempted to create more of a sinister effect by adjusting the offset and vibrance whereas in my second edit, I have tried to create a more surreal image by adding more magenta and yellow to the image. I think that these images are successful to use for overlaying nature images onto portraits as I believe this certain image is interesting in the way it looks. My main idea behind this photograph is to make it look like the trees are closing in on the image and create an image which is different when looking at it. Also, in this image, the lighting was natural which meant I could not control the brightness, however when I have edited the images on Photoshop, I have increased the brightness to ensure that the image doesn’t appear too underexposed.

This is my largest photo shoot and I have taken these images in Rossmere Park using a Nikon D3000 camera. I think that most of my images which I have captured are successful and focused well but some are not. If I were to redo this photo shoot, I would ensure that my focus is right and that I try more angles rather than just some. I like this photo shoot because I have taken images of brightly coloured flowers but also trees and leaves which contrast in colours. Also, this photo shoot links to my main idea of overlaying portraits with nature such as flowers. These images have worked well when experimenting with the overlaying technique which was successful. As well as this, I could not adjust the lighting in these images due to it being natural rather than studio lighting which sometimes works well but other times doesn’t; this is reflected in my images.
