Shoot Four

When taking this particular image I had the idea of making my experiments appear cold and frosty. This idea which I have is unusual but I like it because when editing images I like to adjust the vibrance and saturation to make them lower, this then makes the image look closer to black and white with only slight aspects of colour within them. In my original image, it appears to be too underexposed which is why when I was editing the photograph, I increased the brightness slightly, this makes the image look bolder and brighter. I believe that this image is successful because it has good focus and it achieved the main effect which I had envisioned for this particular photo shoot. If I were to reshoot these images, I would chose a day which was not as dull and dark which would ensure that I had better lighting due to it being natural and also, it would make the photograph look brighter. From completing this photo shoot it has given me further ideas to complete another photo shoot but of portraits and use makeup and appropriate clothing to make the model look cold and frosty. I believe this will link well with this photo shoot and will create a great effect when experimenting with different overlays.

When capturing this photograph, my main idea behind it was to create different textures and effects within the actual image. Taking into consideration the depth of field, the main point of focus in the image is the large rock which has green moss and seaweed on. I particularly like this image because it portrays a range of textures such as seaweed, rocks, sand and water. When editing the original image, my main idea was to make it seem more colder and frostier than it already was. Also, I have tried using different techniques and different camera angles to try and create different points of focus and better quality images on a whole. In my original image, the photo appears to be too underexposed which creates a more cold effect however this makes the image slightly unsuccessful. If I were to reshoot this photograph, I would try other camera angles to ensure that the natural lighting would work in my favour when capturing the image and also I would try and achieve different points of focus to create different and unusual effects with the textures within the photograph. A further idea which this image has gave me is to highlight the main textures within the image and make them appear bolder and brighter which would give an overall better effect when overlaying and experimenting with different portraits, landscapes, still life and textures.

All of the image within my fourth photo shoot were taken with a Nikon D300 at Seaton Carew beach. When taking these images, I have tried to take into consideration different camera angles and also try and incorporate different textures within my images such as seaweed, rocks, water and sand. These different textures will hopefully look good and add to my images when overlaying onto my portraits. I think this photo shoot on a whole was quite successful because although I used natural lighting, all of the photographs do not seem to be too underexposed or underexposed. As well as this, this photo shoot compliments my ideas of making my images appear cold to indicate that many people portray cold personalities and also cold feelings towards others.
