Shoot Seven

I particularly like this image because it is very natural. I also like this image because all of the model is in focus and sharp. This photography is effective because it has been taken in monochrome then I have edited it on Photoshop to increase the contrast which makes the model appear more bold. I also like the look of this particular image because the lighting is artificial however there are no shadows which would make the photograph look less appealing. The angle of view in this image is from the top because I used a tripod when taking this photograph in the studio to ensure my images would be focused better. Also, the sense of mood in this composition seems very bold and vibrant even though the image is in black and white. When taking into consideration the depth of field, the point of focus in this image is the model. For final piece I am going to use the pin hole effect to look like stars above the models head.

In this photograph, the point of focus is the model on a whole however the main point of focus is the models hair. I really like this photograph because it is very neutral and simple however seems so bold due to the contrast of the image which makes the models cardigan appear more bolder than the rest of the image. Also, I like that there are no shadows in this photograph even when using artificial lighting. The models expression in this photo is quite dull however the contrast in this image makes it appear bright. When taking this photograph I used a tripod with the model stood in front, the angle of view is straight ahead with the model facing a different way. This image may appear too underexposed in some places which could make it unsuccessful however it achieved the outcome I wanted.

I really like this particular photograph due to the focus of the image being good and the main point of focus in this image is the models hand. When planning this image, I wanted to experiment with sewing and the pin hole effect to try different techniques. Also when taking this photograph I wanted to sew along the lines of the models cardigan to see how effective that would be. I particularly like the lighting in this image and how it makes the backdrop appear bright white which makes the model stand out more. The only shadows in this image are around the edge of the models face which does not impact the image on a whole too much. Overall, this image is quite successful when taking into consideration the depth of field and lighting and I believe that it achieved the effect which I wanted.

I really like this image because of the sense of mood when looking at the model, she seems focused on something in particular however is not showing any emotion to the situation. I believe to make this photograph more successful the lighting could have been better due to the image being too underexposed however there are no shadows in this image which is good. Also, when taking into consideration the depth of field within this image, the main point of focus is the models lips. When editing this image, it was already taken in black and white, then I just increased the exposure and also increased the contrast to make the image more bold and appealing. I think that the expression on the models face is interesting and creates an atmosphere within the photograph. If I were to reshoot this image, I would adjust the lighting to make the image more successful and ensure that is was not too overexposed to the artificial lighting.

When taking this photo shoot, I took into consideration how I would be editing and experimenting with these images which is why I decided to take the photographs in monochrome and have a neutral background and natural makeup and clothing. I like the idea of having natural images to work with because when I experiment with covering my models face I will be able to use a range of different techniques. I really like this particular photo shoot because the lighting was right which ensured that not shadows would be in my photographs and also I used a tripod which helped with the focus of the image. I believe that this particular photo shoot was successful because it achieved what I had envisioned and also I believe that this is one of my strongest shoots. However, some images were too underexposed and some were too overexposed; if I were to reshoot these images, I would adjust the lighting to ensure that the images were not too light or dark. The further ideas which I have gained from this photo shoot is to take neutral and natural photographs of models with a background such as the beach or trees which would make the image more busy and interesting.
