Shoot Three

Personally, in these images, I prefer the original photograph to the edited version due to the colours which they have turned out. In the first edit, the image appears to be too underexposed whereas in the second edit, the image appears to be too underexposed. My main idea for this photograph was to create different ways for the model to stand which would create different looks for the images which I would be later overlaying with still life photos. I particularly like this image because there is not large shadows from the studio lighting which makes the image look better. Also, I believe that the focus in this image is really good because all of the model is in focus and parts of the image are not blurry. Due to the black background of this image, the atmosphere seems quite eerie and sinister, also because of the dark coloured clothing which the model is wearing creates this effect.

This particular image is my favourite portrait which I have taken. Although I did not have studio lighting and it being mainly natural lighting, I like the darkness of the photograph because it gives a more edgy effect.  In many of my edits, I have tried to create an old fashioned feel to the image because I believe it creates a good effect and an interesting look. If I were to reshoot this image, I would take it in the photography studio using artificial lighting rather than natural. Also, I would get the model to wear different clothing such as a plain t shirt or a wooly jumper to create different effects which match my main idea. As well as this, I would try and not get as many shadows in the image to make it look better quality. Despite all of this, I really like the edit which I have managed to create from this photograph. The point of focus in this photograph is the models eyes/eyelashes, in my opinion they seem to stand out because they look bold.

All of these photographs which I have captured were taken around college, mainly in the photography studio. I think many of these images were successful due to the good focus in most of them. My favourite images from this photo shoot were the ones with the black background. Using the black background made the model stand out and didn’t make the models face look too pale. I think I have achieved the best focus when using the black background also. If I were to reshoot these images I would think about what the model was wearing and maybe put makeup on the model which could be extreme or natural makeup; I think this would look effective and interesting if I done this in my images.
