Shoot Five
Makeup

To create this effect on my model, I have used various white and blue makeups to make her face appear cold. Once I had done this, I used petroleum jelly to highlight aspect of her face, such as her cheekbones, forehead, eyebrows, nose and lips. Once this was rubbed in well, I used sugar to create the texture of frost and placed this on top of the petroleum jelly. I think this created a good and interesting effect when capturing my images because they achieved the effect which I had hoped for and also they complemented my idea of portraying a different aspect of peoples feelings and personalities.
Shoot Five

This particular image I have taken in the photography studio using artificial lighting. My main idea behind this image was to experiment with different clothing and makeup to create different effects. I like the way most of my image look cold which is what inspired me to create this photograph and edit. I think this image is quite successful because the makeup links well to the clothing which the model is wearing. Personally, I like the edited version of the image because it makes the model look colder and more paler than the original image which has achieved the effect which I had envisioned To take this image, I used a Nikon D300. To create this effect on the models face of frost, I used various makeups (blue and white) then used petroleum jelly to cover certain aspects of the models face. Once this was done, I used sugar to cover the petroleum jelly which created an interesting frosty effect. Taking into consideration the depth of field, the main point of focus of my image is the models face, mainly her eyes and mouth. If I were to reshoot these images I would use white face paint on the models face instead of pressed powder which would make her look paler and colder; this would make my original image more successful and achieve the outcome which I had hoped for. When editing this image, I have enhanced the brightness and decreased the saturation to give a cold feel to the photograph. I like this image because I have tried to use different angles when shooting my images which I believe was successful with this image.

When I was taking this image, most of the models makeup was coming off which did not give the effect which I had wanted however, the main idea is still visible. An improvement which I could make would be to make the models face look paler by using white face paint, this would make her look colder. My main idea behind this photograph is to show that people have cold personalities and I wanted to show this through clothing and makeup. When taking into consideration the depth of field, the main point of focus in this image is the side of the models face and the side of the hat. When taking this photograph, I have attempted different angles to try and create different outcomes. One part of the image which I do not like is the large shadow behind the model from the artificial lighting which I used in the studio however it does not affect the image on a whole. When editing this piece, I have decreased the saturation and increased the lighting which enabled the photograph to appear colder and more frosty which matches the makeup and clothing which the model is wearing. Personally, I believe this composition is quite successful however if I were to reshoot the photograph, I would rearrange the lighting in the studio to attempt to not get any shadows in the background of the image. If I were going to adapt my images further, another idea which they have given me would be to experiment more with makeup and effects which change how the models face will look.

In these images, I have used makeup and sugar to make my model look frosty and cold. I have done this to experiment with my images when shooting them rather than just editing them to look different; I have done this to see if I can achieve different outcomes. I think this photo shoot was mainly successful however some shots are not as well focused as I had hoped for. I have taken these images in the photography studio using artificial lighting and a Nikon D300. I wanted to make my model look cold to show that many people appear to have cold personalities.
