Shoot Three

When taking this photoshoot, I have used a Nikon D3200 and I have taken them at a burnt down factory at West View in Hartlepool. When conducting this photoshoot, I have tried to focus on the specific details within the photographs such as the rust and the chipped paint; I have focused on the decay in this area. I think that because this photoshoot was taken when it was raining rather than when it was sunny, it has more impact when looking at it because its helps you to focus on the aspects which are decaying. If I had taken this shoot in the sun, it wouldn't have the same effect because the sunlight tends to make things appear better than they are. When taking these images, I was inspired by the work of Matthew Merrett and Joanne Coyle because they focus on the intricate details and decay within the area that they are photographing. If I were to reshoot these images, I would consider photographing from different angles to improve the quality of the images. In this photoshoot, I have experimented with apperture to focus on the specific details in these images.

When taking these particular photographs, I have focused on the intricate details within the image such as the rust and decay. I have experimented with the use of apperture within these photographs which I think makes the image as a whole more effective because it draws your attention to the main point of focus. When taking into account the apperture, I think that this experimentation has helped with understanding what techniques to use in my further photoshoots. In these images, I have increased the contrast to enhance the main aspects of the images.

This photograph has been taken from a lower angle than usual which captures a more interesting angle of the floor and the rubble on the floor. The main point of focus in this image is the brick in the centre of the image; although it is just a brick your eyes seem to be drawn to it due to the angle in which the photograph has been taken. If I were to retake this photograph, I would think more about the composition and try to incorporate the rule of thirds to ensure a higher quality image and a more successful outcome. When looking at this image as a whole, I really like the chipped paint in the foreground of the image.

This photograph is one of my favourites from this photoshoot because I think that the composition is quite interesting because it looks as though it will be symmetrical but on each side is a different room. The only problem with this image is that the wall isn't perfectly in the centre; if I were to reshoot this photograph, I would ensure that the wall was in the centre to give a more symmetrical feel to the image. Also, I would slighty adjust the angle in which I take the image to make sure the wall is perfectly centred and that the rooms on either side are at the right angle.
