Experimentation
Overlaying...

This experimentation has been inspired by the work of Stephen Gill because he overlays photographs with flowers and petals and other objects. I think these specific images have worked well because they are interesting and unique; they intrigue you because the flowers do not belong where they have been overlayed which is what is so fascinating about the outcomes. The first photograph is my favourite because the way which I have taken the image with the wall dividing two seperate rooms, it looks as though the wall is keeping the flowers from the other room. I also like that the purple and white flowers stand out from the photograph which they have been placed on because it is a burnt building which is quite dark but the flowers are vibrant and bold which contrasts. The other two images are successful but not as successful as the first because the way that the flowers are placed and the specific image which they are placed on is not as interesting. I think that the background of the image which the flowers have been overlayed onto has to be interesting and intriguing so that when the flowers are overlayed onto it they look unique and natural in a way rather than just looking as though they have been placed there.
