Shoot One

I have taken this photoshoot at Port Clarence where the old railway tracks are. However, when planning to take this photoshoot, I was going to takke photographs of the abandoned signal box which was located at the side of the railways tracks although when I had got there it had been demolished. When taking this photoshoot I have used a Nikon D3200 and focused on the 'Man vs. Nature' idea; the plants in this photoshoot have overgrown the abandoned railway track and taken over the area. This photoshoot is not as successful as some of my others because I did not have chance to plan what I was going to take photographs of as this was not what I was originally photographing in this shoot. Some of these photographs are slightly too overexposed which has resulted in them being less successful. Within this shoot, I have experimented with different camera angles to try to achieve the best possible angle and outcome of the photograph.

I quite like this photograph from this shoot because the sunset has resulted in the rusted train track looking more of a warm colour. As well as this, the train tracks create leading lines to the sunset which is interesting as when you look at the image, you follow the lines with your eyes. However, I think the foreground of this photograph is slightly too underexposed because it is hard to see what is in the foreground. If I were to re-edit this photograph, I would increase the brightness in the foreground and also increase the vibrancy and saturation to make the plants and grass which is growing through the railway tracks more bold and bright.

I have taken this photograph of the railway track switchers which are rusted and overgrown by plants. I think that this photograph would be more successful if I had taken a closer image of them to ensure that the rust could be seen more clearly and in higher contrast. As well as this, I think that if I had adjusted the camera angle I may have recieved a better outcome overall. As well as this, due to taking this photograph as the sun was setting, it has resulted in the lighting not being as good as I had hoped; if I had taken this image from the side, I would have captured the sunset in the composition and it may have created an interesting effect which would make the image overall more successful.

I have edited this photograph because it is a close up image of the peeling paint on the handle for the railway track switcher. It also shows the rust on the handles however due to the use of apperture, this section of the image is out of focus. I don't think this photograph is very successful because the focus is not correct; the handles should also be in focus as well as the foreground of the image whereas the background of the image should be blurred. Due to the way I have photographed this image, the handles seem to blur into the background of the image because the main point of focus is the foreground of the image but in particular, the bottom section of the photograph.
